The five RYZE perfumes, explained: notes, character and when to wear each

RYZE has five eau de parfum scents, all blended in Cairo by master perfumers: Leen for her, Como and Nova for him, and Sweet Amber and Malachite for anyone. Each comes in 50 ml and 100 ml.

Leen: floral, for her

Pear, lychee and grapefruit open Leen. Damascena rose, incense and vetiver form the heart, and the base settles into vanilla, musk and Evernyl, a soft mossy note. You meet the fruit first, then the rose with its thread of incense, and later the vanilla and musk that stay close to the skin.

Leen is an evening scent for fall and winter: special occasions, date nights, nights out and formal evenings. Como: citrus woody, for him

Grapefruit is the first thing you notice in Como, sharp and bright. Ginger and ambrette sit at the heart, and the base of ambroxan, musk, vetiver and patchouli is what stays with you through the day.

Spring and summer are Como's seasons. Take it to the beach and the Sahel, on casual days and on nights out. Like Leen, it wears the Best Seller ribbon.

Nova: fresh aromatic, for him

Nova starts crisp, with apple, ginger and bergamot, then turns herbal through sage, juniper berries and geranium. A base of amberwood, tonka bean, cedar, vetiver and olibanum makes it warmer and woodier as the hours pass.

Sweet Amber: oriental woody, unisex

The darkest of the five, Sweet Amber opens on black grapes, bergamot and rose. Smoky guaiac wood, jasmine and patchouli follow, over a deep base of amber, cedar wood and musk.

Malachite: woody floral, unisex

Bitter orange and petitgrain sit at the top of Malachite, with jasmine sambac, ylang-ylang and pink pepper in the heart and lily, vanilla and benzoin in the base. The pepper and the bitter citrus give it an edge; the white flowers and the vanilla soften it.
